More about our Mission

The primary task of the Derry Township Camping Association, Inc. is to oversee all aspects of the day to day operation of Camp Catherine, ensuring that it continues to meet its goal of providing a modern, yet rustic, camping and meeting facility that is clean, safe, and affordable for the use by Girl Scouts, Scouts BSA(formerly the Boy Scouts), youth groups, non-profit youth organizations, and youth focused community groups.

Provide Camping for Youth

The legacy of providing a local camp site to Youth continues to this day. The DTCA was created to manage Camp Catherine, a property leased from the Hershey Trust through their generosity.

In order to continue this mission, we rely on donations to the Camp, revenue generated from camping facility rentals, and local youth organizations to provide service to help maintain the property.

Camp Catherine’s proximity to Hersheypark make it a great facility for visiting groups. Just far enough away from the bustle to be quiet and removed, but close enough to access all the activities.

All Volunteer Board

Camp Catherine has a Board of Directors that oversee the running of the Camp. We are always seeking interested individuals to assist with this endeavor that is crucial to keeping the Mission alive.

Many hands make light work, and since Camp Catherine is completely non profit, and self sufficient, the Derry Township Camping Association looks for local groups to help with maintenance and upkeep in order to continue to provide camping facilities to local and regional scouts and youth organizations. We also seek individuals to help with running the camp as a volunteer or Board member.
